Privacy Policy for NextUp Games

NextUp Games ("the app") is a personal video game backlog tracker. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it's used, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

Account information (optional)
Signing in is optional — you can browse and track games without ever creating an account. If you choose to sign up, we collect your email address and password to create and secure your account. Passwords are never stored or seen by us directly — they're handled by our authentication provider, Supabase, using industry-standard encryption.

Backlog data
If you sign in, the games you add to your backlog (title, platform, status, and related metadata) are stored on our servers, tied to your account, so your backlog stays in sync. If you don't sign in, this data stays on your device only.

Profile information
Any first name, last name, nickname, and profile photo you enter on the Profile screen are stored locally on your device only. This information is never transmitted to us or to any third party, and is not linked to your account on our servers.

Game data and cover art
Game titles, descriptions, and cover art shown in the app are provided by IGDB.com, a Twitch company, via their public API. We don't send any personal information to IGDB — only the search terms for games you look up.

2. What We Don't Do

We don't use analytics or advertising SDKs. We don't track you across other apps or websites. We don't sell or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Data Storage and Security

Account and backlog data is stored using Supabase, a third-party backend provider, with access restricted to your account. All data is transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS) connections.

4. Your Rights

• Export: you can export your backlog at any time (Settings → Export Backlog) as a JSON file.
• Deletion: you can permanently delete your account and all associated backlog data at any time (Settings → Delete Account). This action is irreversible.

5. Children's Privacy

The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
